Gingerbread Porridge with cherry sauce
Creamy, vegan oatmeal with wintery spices and warming cherry sauce. Simple, quick recipe for a healthy breakfast.
Servings: 2 people
Ingredients
- 50 g (1 cup) rolled oats
- 125 ml (1cup) plantbased milk
- 125 ml (1 cup) water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp ground ginger or freshly grated ginger
- a pinch of ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp agave syrup or maple syrup
Cherry sauce
- 100 g frozen cherries or berries
- 50 g agave syrup or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp starch
- orange zest
- 1 star anise
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients for the porridge in a saucepan and let simmer for 5 minutes stirring constantly.
- Serve the oatmeal with the hot cherry sauce and hazelnuts or store it in the fridge for several days.
