Why you should make this recipe:

  • if you love tiramisu and doughnuts, then with this pastry your dream came true
  • impresses all your friends and family
  • it’s perfect if you need to bring something to a party
  • if you want to save fat, you can simply bake the doughnuts in the oven

From the oven or deep-fried ?!

Traditionally, the doughnuts are deep-fried in oil, which makes them soft and fluffy on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside.
But if you want to save calories and fat, you can just bake them in the oven, but then they probably aren’t that fluffy.

Here you see the doughnuts from the oven onthe left side and the classic ones on the right side:

Variations

If you don’t want to make doughnuts, you can use these cream for other desserts such as frosting for cupcakes, filling for a sponge cake or even as a dessert in a jar!

  • For the coffee chocolate filling, mix the espresso with the sugar, then stir in the melted chocolate until the filling combines and becomes creamy.
  • Drill one or both sides of the deep-fried doughnuts with a sharp knife so that the fillings can be injected. Pour the mascarpone cream into a piping bag and use it to fill the doughnuts from both sides. Then put the coffee chocolate cream into a piping bag and fill the doughnuts with this filling.
