This quickly prepared sauce is perfect as a tasty and healthy snack! You can for example dip bread chips or raw vegetables cut into long sticks perfectly in it and then enjoy it all together without any guilty conscience; the dip consists of a vitamin-rich vegetable base and a little red wine.
And not to forget: a glass of red wine a day is healthy and can even prevent cardiovascular diseases.
Beetroot
This root vegetable is perfect for vitamin supply in winter. It also lowers blood pressure and inhibits inflammation – a true miracle vegetable!
For the dip, simply mix the beetroot with spices, lime juice and roasted onion and garlic in a strong mixer to a creamy mass.
Red wine
As explained earlier, a glass of red wine a day is considered healthy and has positive effects on the heart and circulation.
For this recipe, stronger red wines such as Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon are particularly suitable; and if you want to make the dip vegan, you can simply use a vegan red wine that has not been clarified with gelatine or fish bladder.

Healthy beetroot & red wine dip with white sesame
of spicy beetroot and aromatic red wine,

Ingredients
- ½ onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- olive oil
- 250 g beetroot cooked and peeled
- 100 ml red wine if desired a vegan wine
- 1 lime or ½ lemon
- salt, pepper if desired caraway
- 1 tbsp white sesame seeds
Instructions
- Coarsely chop the onion and garlic cloves and fry them lightly in a pan with a little olive oil.
- Coarsely chop the beetroot and mix it with fried onion and garlic, red wine, lime juice and spices in a strong mixer for 3 minutes to create a creamy and fine dip.
- Sprinkle the dip with some white sesame seeds and season to taste, for example with some lime juice or fresh herbs.
